Summary
This proposal seeks to restore the ASTRO original supply by reducing the total supply to the original amount of 1 billion tokens.
Abstract
Following the collapse of Terra Classic, the protocol was redeployed on Terra 2, necessitating an increase in the total supply to ~1.1 billion tokens to accommodate an airdrop for previous ASTROC holders and to provide initial incentives.
With the launch of vxASTRO, an analysis of the emissions schedule has been conducted, revealing that the current emissions plan, set to last for the next 30 years, no longer requires the additional ~100 million tokens. Therefore, this proposal aims to burn these surplus tokens to align the supply with the original tokenomics.
Implementation
This proposal will burn 99,999,997.921598 ASTRO tokens from the Treasury to reduce the total supply from ~1.1 billion to 1 billion.
Executable Messages
To be added soon.
Conclusion
Upon execution of this proposal, the total supply of ASTRO tokens will be restored to the original target of 1 billion tokens, ensuring alignment with the protocol’s intended tokenomics.
